My customer want to reserve one com port for their own software application. His software cannot detect the assigned com port if ActiveSync is running, so he needs to manually free that port from ActiveSync everytime he start the software. Anyone know the registry key to disable certain COM port on ActiveSync on WindowsXP? I tried below registry, but it didn't work.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services
by specifying :
• Value: REG_DWORD:ConnectTypesAllowed Settings:
o Allow serial cable or infrared connection to a COM port: 0x00000002
o Allow network (Ethernet) and Remote Access Service (RAS) server connection with the desktop computer: 0x00000004
o Allow USB connection with the desktop computer: 0x00000008
