Greg, The OS swap upgrade can only be done at the depot. As with any upgrade, the swap is from one established configuration to another but there should be WM6 and CE versions of all the hardware permutations
The MC3190 product line was designed to allow the device’s operating system (OS) to be switched easily between Windows CE and Windows Mobile. This ability (announced in PMB 1755) is a selling point of the product in which customers have expressed interest. The “OS swap” upgrade can be done in either direction (CE to WM or vice-versa) but the device must be relabeled to reflect its new OS and model number. As a result, the swap is to be performed in the depots only and a depot process is in place.
Per PMB 1755, the OS swap is limited to MC3190 configs only. If you want this done you can call the Support Center with the corresponding CE equivalent.
