Customer is trying to run a script to turn on GPS, get a location and dump the data to a file but the API appears to be restricted.  If they are running Sprint Navigation in the background the script functions properly so Navigation appears to be removing the restriction. The script functions properly on ATT ES400 so ATT is not restricting the API. Script does function on Sprint ES400S when Sprint Navigation is running at the same time.

Hi Mark, Did you try the suggestion provided by Paul? "did you try running 2 instances of the script - writing to different files. If that works it at least you know 2 apps can share the GPS data. Do you know if they go direct or use the Microsoft GPS API's?" Please let us know. If you can share the scripts, send it to us for debugging. Please open a SPR to track this issue. Thanks, Saravana

customer worked with Motorola Account Team Engineer and was able to change the script so it functioned properly.  thanks for the follow up.

Hi, I am not aware the API's are restricted - the API's are designed to allow applications to share.  You may have an issue if the other app goes directly to the com port to get the NMEA data.  Do you know if they go direct or use the Microsoft GPS API's? try running 2 instances of the script - writing to different files.  If that works it at least you know 2 apps can share the GPS data.
