clarify 2476416 3 days ES400 MC65 update time-date over activesync OEM 31.2  or OEM 19.xx  or 21.xx we have one customer discovered that ES400 nor MC65 is not able to synchronize time and date when synching with partnership setup and the activesync an option within AS for Time sync is enabled. we checked MC9190  - MC3190 MC95  running wm 6.5.3.6 or 6.5.3.9  and there the option works OK. http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/setting-up-activesync-options-for… see this on google: The option on the device whether or not to sync time is OEM specific. So I suggest that you contact the OEM of your device. is this an SPR  or do we have an statement that ES400-MC65 is not supporting this .

Dave consulted IAC  and we have found that disabling  NITZ on ES400 - MC65 will fix this. Disable NITZ  Time Sync to current time zone  see  Clock    and disable "Sync to current time zone"  and press OK or use regkey to do this alternatively.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Clock]

"NetworkTimeSync"=dword:00000000                                                ; default value = 1 if you now do an Activesync and have an partnership  then time and date are synchronzed  from PC  if the option within Activesync on PC has been set to

‘synchronize Pocket PC date and time upon connecting’
thanks

The ES400 and MC65 have some algorithm from either IAC or Qualcomm to deal with the date and time.  Syncing with the PC via ActiveSync is probably not working due to this or due to NITZ.

Dave, thanks that is what i thought as well but does your conclusion also means that this an limitation of the QC architecture and not able to be fixed with an SPR ?

D David Meyer

Possibly, but we can send the question to IAC to find out.
