My customer is migrating from HTC Flyer and Samsung Galaxy to ET1, but experiencing a issue of screen resolution. Here's the list of screen parameters for ET1 and HTC Flyer (both of them have 7" screen and similar resolution) (obtained by 3rd party app called "Android System Info)
HTC Flyer
Motorola ET1
Resolution
600 X 976
1024 X 600
Refresh Rate
60.0
68.0
X factor for DIP
1.0
1.5
Density
160 dpi
240 dpi
Pixel per inch
X: 169.99738 dpi Y: 169.33333 dpi
X: 6.055832E-6 dpi Y: 3.548339E-6 dpi
From my understanding, the screen density reported by Motorola ET1 is incorrect, while dpi means “Dot Per Inch”. For screen density of 240 dpi with resolution 1024 X 600, the screen size should be (1024/240)” X (600/240)” = 4.27” X 2.5” which is a normal 5” screen, instead of 7”. Therefore, the system display their application’s layout incorrectly.
Similar problem did occurred in Samsung Galaxy Tab (7”). Here’s more info from Google : http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2011/07/new-tools-for-managing-s… Not sure if it still happened in Rev.A hardware as all on my hand are DV units. Does anyone has Rev. A hardware can help to vertify this parameter for me. Thanks, Dick

Any update on this? My customer is also saying that the screen resolution is being reported at 240 dpi where it should be 160 dpi for the ET1.
