I have a VMware image of ADSP v8.1.3 I must upgrade to v9 in order to evaluate before testing at my customer (which is having quite a few issues allegedly fixed on v9). Problem is that VM does not seem to detect the virtual DVD drive. I suppose CD/DVD drive is somewhat "tied" to a certain SCSI interface (or even maybe IDE!) I have to manually map on my image. If somebody knew its SCSI parameters (i.e, 0:0, 1:2), or at least its logical name (i.e, /dev/sda), I would really appreciate her/his telling me! TIA!

Preferred is to use the pre-configured ZIP file from AirDefense SalesRack. http://compass.mot-solutions.com/web/wnssales/Motorola%20AirDefense%20S… (technical section on the right hand side has the download links on the next page) Or another solution is: try to use VMWare player 32/64 bit (4.x), then select OS - Red Hat Linux make sure your WinXP version BIOS's settings have been changed (e.g. on HP 6930p, Virtual Technology - YES and Data Execution Prevention - NO). Then use the ISO file (copy the iso file to a drive e.g. C:\ and extract the ISO file to a normal directory, or extract ISO file to a DVD first (as per normal process), then copy the directory back to the harddisk), then install from the harddisk. No need to have the DVD/CD-Rom connected to the VMWare image. It takes longer as you need to do a complete fresh install. The pre-compiled VMware image is the preferred method. Beside the basic ISO file also install the SM1

Thanks! The zipped image did work fine (after disabling DEP and enabling VM on my BIOS, of course). My PC can run 64-bit VM. I am now installing SM1...
