Hello, I have a LS4278 wireless barcode scanner with CR0078-S/CR0008-S series cradle. The cradle connects via RS232 to the serial port on the PC running MS Windows XP Professional. How do I get the barcode scans to register as a keyboard entry? Is some 3rd party utility necessary? Thank you, and apologies if this post is overly simplistic, I am new to this.

The simplest way is to use WinXP Accessibility feature Control Panel-> Accessibility Options -> General -> Serial Key Devices Enabe Use Serial Keys, then press Settigs buttyon and configure the serial port to macth teh scanner parameters.
