5) 2692373 The customer is having an issue where the scan engine is crashing. Basically it will scan at times but then eventually it will do multiple scans / beeps before failing. They have a number of Motorola devices that run this application. An MC9190 with 1D laser, a WT4090 and also MC3190G’s however this issue only occurs on the MC9190 with the 2D Imager. It is on all of this spec device so not just one or two and the scanner only works again after a cold boot. I have collected a few eMscript logs and I don't see anything significant at the time of the failure. I do see the same thing in the RT logs when it occurs: 3099, 2012-10-11, 15:02:45, 097e0006h, 09aa0006h, eMscript TimeStamp: 10/11/2012 3:02:45 PM   3100, 2012-10-11, 15:02:45, 097e0006h, 09aa0006h, 10/11/2012 3:02:45 PM,100,8359,-2,29.0,100,2818,Auto,48,2   3101, 2012-10-11, 15:02:45, 097e0006h, 09aa0006h, 6,98873344,54902784,888459264,12,20,j9.exe,Mdex [Dialog]   3102, 2012-10-11, 15:02:45, 097e0006h, 09aa0006h, ,1,1,192.168.55.101,192.168.55.101,683,1514,0,0,-1,Error,   3103, 2012-10-11, 15:02:45, 097e0006h, 09aa0006h, -109,,0,0,`USB Default,0,Not Found,N/A,0,2,101,Heartbeat   3104, 2012-10-11, 15:03:43, 00400002h, 0aab0066h, Exception 'Data Abort' (4): Thread-Id=0aab0066(pth=88f50120), Proc-Id=00400002(pprc=8336b308) 'NK.EXE', VM-active=0a990062(pprc=8fac2890) 'j9.exe'   3105, 2012-10-11, 15:03:43, 00400002h, 0aab0066h, PC=c01d25fc(gwes.dll+0x000225fc) RA=c01d25f8(gwes.dll+0x000225f8) SP=d3c9fcbc, BVA=d270f000   3106, 2012-10-11, 15:03:44, 00400002h, 0aab0066h, Exception 'Data Abort' (4): Thread-Id=0aab0066(pth=88f50120), Proc-Id=00400002(pprc=8336b308) 'NK.EXE', VM-active=0a990062(pprc=8fac2890) 'j9.exe'   3107, 2012-10-11, 15:03:44, 00400002h, 0aab0066h, PC=80428ca8(kitl.dll+0x00007ca8) RA=8042c0e4(kitl.dll+0x0000b0e4) SP=d3c9fb5c, BVA=00000010   3108, 2012-10-11, 15:03:44, 00400002h, 084a0012h, SA2V: AllocSurface1(D199FC2C, w:121, h:22, EGPEF: 4, surfFlags 2)   3109, 2012-10-11, 15:03:45, 00400002h, 0a0c006ah, Exception 'Prefetch Abort' (3): Thread-Id=0a0c006a(pth=8a750120), Proc-Id=00400002(pprc=8336b308) 'NK.EXE', VM-active=00400002(pprc=8336b308) 'NK.EXE'   3110, 2012-10-11, 15:03:45, 00400002h, 0a0c006ah, PC=d2998ff8(???+0xd2998ff8) RA=d2998ff8(???+0xd2998ff8) SP=d2befe40, BVA=d2998ff8   3111, 2012-10-11, 15:03:45, 00400002h, 087a0296h, SA2V: AllocSurface1(D0A6FC2C, w:228, h:22, EGPEF: 4, surfFlags 2)

I'm received the application and I will try and reproduce the issue. If anyone has any ideas on what to check please let me know. I will attach the logs from this failure as well.

After further review of the customer's application we see that they are using the classes from the SMDK for Java v1.3. We have asked them to retest using the EMDK for Java v2.5 classes to see if the issue can still be reproduced. Support for the MC9190 was not available until the EMDK for Java v2.4.
