A customer requested an FTP server on mobile computing devices to load files while the devices were being used in the warehouse. No MDM was in use at the multiple facilities. The customer asvised thetLVE vehicle mounts had an FTP server and they wanted to use this approach After testing a few different FTP servers I found the attached 3rd party FTP server compatible with CE6 and CE7. It is likely that it will work on WM5 and WM6. I did not test any devices with these OS's A brief set of instructions is included in the bundle.

Marcus, I tested this on WT41N0 via WLAN, but seems pretty slow. MS's own CE6.0 ftp server is not compatibile with WT1N0?

I only moved relatively small files. My customer use case was to put cab files on devices in the field on demand for support reasons. I never checked performance since it was the base functionality I was looking for

Mocha's FTPD for WM worked fine for me some time ago, it's here: http://www.mochasoft.dk/freeware/ftpd.htm You might wish to test it...
