I have a customer whois using MC17 / MC3190's on a network which requires WPA2 enterprise authentication with certs. When they cold boot the MC17/MC3190's the date reverts back to 2003 and the cert is invalid. If we could set the device date to Jan 1, 2013, that would be suitable to get them on line.(the cert has a 3 year span of being valid) then the NTP service can reset the time. I checked the registry using RemCapture...there are variables for Daylight Savings Time and time zone--none for the actual time Has anyone written a script which could be executed on boot to acconplish this?

Marcus, I had a similar challenge and used the attached scripts to maintain and/or restore the time. Startup control managed the process and provided the option to popup the clock after a cold boot - which you shouldn't need with NTP. - Dave
Try Symscript to set a default date on a cold boot to ensure activation of the cert: Sample file attached:
