MC45 & WEP

Guys, Anyone seen issues when connecting the MC45 to legacy infrastructure ? We have a large UK deployment of the MC45 going into sites running WEP (yes - I know) and the MC45 refuses to get an IP address. It shows as connected in the Log but just a continual "Renewing IP Address" in the log once connected. We can get MC67's connecting to the WEP AP's. The MC45 works fine once connected to a WPA network. MC45 is running Fusion 3-40.0.1.057R. Thanks Andy

This is very typical indication of WEP key mismatch. Try setting static IP. Most likely traffic will not be forwarded as well. If this is the case, set the WEP key as HEX key, instead of passprase. WEP did not have a standard specification on how keys should be generated from passprase, so sometimes you can bump into compatibility issues. Who is the WLAN vendor? And yes, I still wonder why we're allowing to select WEP w/o signing a disclaimer "I understand that by using WEP I'm as good as using no encryption at all" :)

Just switched to WZC and all works OK. Looks like a bug in Fusion.
