I have a customer evaluating the DS6878 and have an issue that I am trying to resolve.

 In essence (whilst the scanner performance is fine) they want 

No flashing led on the outside of the scanner

No docking station required; just a plastic holder on the side of the bedroom joinery

Scanner to communicate to a simple wireless Blue Tooth dongle that plugs in to a USB port.

 My query is can the visible light on the rear of the handheld be switched off?? ( I cannot find this anywhere in the PRG or an option in 1232 Scan.

I realise there is no option on this unit for external battery charging and quick user replacement but am open ideas here as my only other option is start looking at something else with removable batteries….
