Analytic tools not accepted at German customers !

Hermes raised a questions what about several tools which are pre-installed and running on the device, especially what they do and what they are for.
They would like to get a complete overview and documentation about those tools.

- ELEMEZ
- AnalyticsMgr
- DataAnalytics

They found that Elemez is activating and updating itself as soon as there is a network connection.
They want to decide by themselve whether a analytics tool is running or not and they expect that as a factory default nothing is running and communicating to a server.
Using a non GMS system, they expect that there is no comminication to us, Google, or other third party companies.

We need to change this in our OS and deliver a "non analytics" device out of teh box. If needed, we should integrate in a way that a customer is able to decide to switch it on and off again. And we should document in detail what is our, but more important, what is the benefit for the customer, what data will be transmitted and what is done with that data.

Please let me know how we can achieve this.

Horst,

After speaking with Rob Biggs, he informed me that the TC75 will have a CSP that will allow you to disable
- ELEMEZ, - AnalyticsMgr,  DataAnalytics and will be part of Mx 4.3

Also, the actual UI for AnalyticsMgr,  DataAnalytics should not be visible now and will not be by Rev A... just the Elemez UI.

As far as, "Why would someone want Elemez either on their device and/or actively collecting information?", that is something that Rob and the Product Mgr, Tim Daciuk are crafting now, so stay tuned for that.

Hope this helps for now.

Thank you for your time.
