The battery swap function does not work on my DV1 unit ( I always get the message 'system is not ready for battery swap') so just wanted to confirm whether this is expected behaviour i.e. does it require a newer hardware build in order to work?

Pietro is correct about the supercap...
Battery Swap is only available on DV3 and newer TC75s.

I think that TC75 DV1 units are missing a supercap required to support this feature, this was something added later on for RM.
