Does the TC70 accelerometer capture any date or is there any API's available to turn on data capture of this?

You could probably find something on the Play Store that would do a data capture of the accelerometer, but for this specific case it sounds like a good idea for something custom.
Essentially the application would run in the background log 'drop' events when the accelerometer hits a certain threshold.
