I have a DS3508-ER connected to COM1. I have TekWedge configured to add "\000d" (carriage return) as a suffix. When I scan a short barcode, it works fine. When I scan a longer barcode, like a PDF417 barcode on a FedEx label, the data doesn't seem to all get to the VC80. The data gets truncated. The DS3508 will then act like it's frozen (won't trigger) and then a few seconds later gives a series of bad beeps. It will then start scanning again.
When I perform the same test with a DS3578-ER connected to the VC80 via COM3 (BT port), everything works fine. Scanning the large PDF417 barcode always gets all the data and the carriage return to the VC80.

Ken, can you confirm what version of VC Control Panel you have installed in this VC80.
I know we ran into an issue like this a while ago, so I'm surprised you could see it in a 4.x version of the CPL.
Can you test with TekWedge in copy/paste mode?
The way the DS3508 behaves seems (no trigger, series of beeps) like serial COMs problems, but I want to be sure.
Can you send a photo pf the barcode?
