If you want to use Wavelink TE with VC80 you'll need to make a setting change in the Wavelink client for the My-T-Soft keyboard and TekWedge to get keystrokes and scanner data into Wavelink.  Change the "Use Scanner As Keyboard Wedge" option to Enable (see screen shot below).  Until this change is made, the My-T-Soft on-screen keyboard and TekWedge will not be able to get any data into Wavelink.
