How to restrict MC92 WEC to use 11b or 11g protocol?

    Severino Lozano Diez

      Hi there.

We'd like to restrict the use of the protocols 11b/11g, because we're having some troubles with 11n. Fusion has the option to use 2.4 or 5 GHz, but there is no option about protocols.

Any idea on how to do it?

One option you could use if you / your customer has the ability to control the configuration of the WLAN infrastructure; is to limit the WiFi data rates that are supported on the infrastructure to only the 802.11g rates.  With the Zebra WiNG infrastructure this is easily accomplished.

              Dear Mr. Burleson,

              Thanks for your answer.

We are the Zebra's partner that have this problem in a customer.

Our customer cannot change their a WLAN infrastructure configuration. They are using MC9090 and MC9190 MDE's without problems, but the problem seems that  is the MC92N with 802.11n communications.

The customer is looking for other MDE's of  other manufacturer as possible solution. But of course we was defending that MC92N is the best solution for them.

Do you know if we could make something in the configuration of the MC92N.

Thanks in advance for your help and kind regards,
