read barcode one character at

Good evening, I'm reading a bar code in PDF417 format, is an identity, but apparently contains null characters, it is possible to read the bar code character by character to ignore nulls?

I'm programming in visual studio 2008 vb.net, if you can share the code would be very grateful.

thank you very much

Can I suggest you look a the

Can I suggest you look a the 123Scan utility and use that to program the barcode scanner via the Modify Data / Advanced Data Formatting feature.  This has useful features that allow you to do things such as -

- search for specific character - eg. null.

- transmit partial strings - eg. single character or all characters up until the null.

I hope this helps.

123Scan does not work with the MK3100, it is for handheld scanners.

I have not tried this,  but looking at the EMDK help file, I see that in the Barcode2 Assembly the ScanData class includes a RawData byte array that comes back after a scan.  Do you see the data you need in there?

You will probably need to set up the scanner to return binary instead of text.  In the config class of the Barcode2 Assembly there is a ScanDataFormat property that should allow you to set that.
