I would like to know if there is a plan for upgrading MC18 devices to lollipop(Android 5.x) version.
We are interested in few features of Lollipop which are not available in Kitkat.

It may be some functionality that we already have available in our Mx frameworks.

We are looking at simulating iBeacon capabilities ( to broadcast advertisement packets, not to listen ).

This feature has been enabled from 5.x of Android.
According to here, it can be enabled on 4.4.4 but needs some changes to framework code.
It can only send 24 bytes of advertisement packet, which can be fixed using this patch Gerrit Code Review
But even after that the app needs to be installed as system app to allow broadcasting of advertisement packets.
This is very important requirement for the service we are providing. Hope this can be included.
