I have developed an app that runs on several of our TC70s it reads barcodes from the scanner and does other tasks.
I just bought another TC70. They button on the left does not fire the scanner. My app is not able to get any response from the barcode scanner.
This unit does not have DataWedge installed.
Is this required? If so, how do I resolve this issue?

After several months, I have finally solved the problem.
I had to repeatedly google the issue.
The lack of DataWedge on the TC70 was never a problem with the device, but with the Zebra software.
The problem is that DataWedge is removed when EMDK 4.0 Device Runtime Installer is applied.

Datawedge is required and comes preinstalled on all TC70 devices. Your device should have the DataWedge app and the DWDemo app on it. If case of issues, you could try to reflash the OS yourself or send the unit back to your distributor and have it checked.
