GK420t network attached printer not detected

    Baris Dokudur

I have a GK420t network attached printer and trying to connect with an Android tablet by using "Zebra Printer Setup" app. But when I tried to manually select the printer in the app by using the static IP of the printer, getting an error message as "Printer not found, please check both devices and their settings". Any ideas?

          Hello Baris,

Seems there is a chance you need to check your network configuration.

Could you please to share some details on it?

              Thanks for your interest Dmitry.

We are developing a web app to be worked on Google Chrome in Samsung P580 tablets (Anrdoid Oreo 8.1.0) and we need to print out some barcode labels from these GK420t network attached printers. Printers are pluged to our company LAN network via ethernet port and assigned static IP's on. When we tried to manually add these IP's via PC's which exists on the same network, everything works fine but we could not find any solution to detect same printers via these Android tablets. We tried Zebra Printer Setup and PrintConnect apps but getting "Printer not found, please check both devices and their settings." message. On the other hand, printers are interestingly detectable from the Zebra Utilities app and we can get print outs inside the app but seems there is no chance to use this service from Chrome.

Currently we are checking other options as sending print outs using JavaScript (HTTP post) inside from our app but is there any other easier way that you can direct us?

                  Hello Baris,

Have you considered that root cause of your issue could be in Chrome security restrictions? There is a chance it prohibits you to communicate with a host (a printer for your case) that is not an origin of your HTML page with javascript code. However it should not affect Zebra Printer Setup and PrintConnect.

Anyway it may be a reasonable option to communicate with printer inside from our app, not from some javascript code inside of Chrome browser.
