DataWedge not working after sleep

I have an MC333R that I would like to start selling our customers, but we are having an issue where the DataWedge version on this device doesn't activate our app when it comes out of sleep.  I have not experienced this on other Zebra scanners like the TC8000 and the TC77HL (Android 8.1.0, DW 7.0.4).  I can press the power button to replicate the issue and it will happen about 50% of the time.  With our app still in the foreground, I can get it to work again, by pressing the app switcher button and then re-selecting our app.  I don't think we have LifeGuard for this device currently, so I haven't been able to test out the latest update.  My device has Datawedge 6.9.53 and Android 7.1.2 and says it has Android security patch level from August 1, 2018.  Any idea if this was a known issue that has been fixed in the LG updates?

We eventually got an update

We eventually got an update for this device and the DataWedge 7 solved the issue.  I don't have the device in front of me or I'd post the exact version that solved the issue.
