Hello all,
I'm trying to set two scanners (DS8178) with their respective cradles. When using the Scan123 utility, this application tries to update but crashes for some unforeseen reason. Looked at the Event Viewer and noticed a couple of errors popped up involving the application.

Hi,
I'm not sure when this thread was opened. I just had the same issue and after a few hours troubleshooting I finally found a way to download the plugins. The following steps should work (but maybe there are some unwanted side effects - no guarantee):
1. Open the file "C:\Program Files\Zebra Technologies\Barcode Scanners\123Scan2\123ScanAppMain.exe.config"
2. Insert the following tag after "<runtime>": <enforceFIPSPolicy enabled="false"/>
3. Save the file and start the application
As the encoding here does not work very well, you can find my full .config-File at the following page: https://pastebin.com/9EJWr0tq
It should work now, at least it worked for me :-)
Thanks so much niels.scheunem! The scan123 Updater worked with your solution.
I have absolutely same problem after automatic update. ver 5.3.16
123scan tried start but in loading it falls. If our IT department start this "as administrator" it works correctly. With usual user account is not able to start. Previous version was OK.

Have you any idea how to fix it? Reinstall did not help too.
