Reduce the risk of employee downtime by identifying batteries that are no longer capable of holding a charge through a full shift. Detect batteries out of, or approaching, manufacturer’s recommended lifespan that may be at risk of overheating. Know smart battery inventory, health status and insight into battery life to ensure smoother operations. Create multiple reports for flexible insight:
- Total batteries
- Active batteries: Batteries reported by devices actively in use
- Out of Contact (OOC) batteries: Batteries reported by devices before but not recently
- Battery current health to show the percentage of batteries in different health categories:
- Normal: Battery’s Remaining Useful Life (RUL) is more than 30 days
- Warning: Battery’s RUL is between 1 and 30 days
- Critical: Battery’s RUL is 0 day
- Unknown: Battery’s RUL is “Unable to predict” due to lack of data
- Track changes in battery inventory
- Proactively identify batteries needing replacement to trigger order of new batteries
- Understand individual battery health status
- Remove bad or unneeded batteries from inventory
Requirements
- Mobile device model and Android version are supported for the Mobile Computer Device Health APIs
- Zebra Data Services (ZDS) agent is installed and activated on the Mobile Computers
- Zebra Printers are running Link-OS 4.0 or above, i.e. firmware version X.20.01Z or later
- Zebra Printer Connector (ZPC) agent is activated on the Printers
- Devices have been enrolled and authorized for Zebra Savanna
Getting Started
Authentication
A Zebra Savanna application key is required for using and testing this API. See the Getting Started Guide
