  • Roll Call
  • Specific Discussion(s):
    • Online Course Evaluation
      • Status – have you taken it, all or part?
      • Is it the right stuff to enable SE’s for Voice Projects?
  • Round Table:

BRING YOUR QUESTIONS, ISSUES, TIPS/TRICKS, RECENT DISCOVERIES about Android

Notes

  • Rick is in Lincolnshire, working on a “workaround” training plan – he won’t make this meeting.
But he does need your feedback on the Online course.. so I only have 1 item for discussion today,
plus of course any items you guys need to share

Provide your feedback here:

  • EMC/Android/MDM SEVT Summit:

        Working on identifying dates

SKO- Feb 8-10, can we meet for the SEVT summit the day before or after?

For summit would like one deep session, no jumping from session to session.  i.e. deep training on Workforce Connect.

SEVT members get trained, and then those people train others.

  • RFID and DCS summits- Done
  • Training:
    1. Andrew Crowl - currently on module 3
    2. Mike Cooper – Online course in-progress
    3. Paul  Pandelidis– Online training done – Please provide feedback on LP
  • PTT Pro:
    1. Launching on APAC, but no voice, only PTT pro and texting
    2. Launching on Europe (both) next month
    3. Demo status:
      • It is ready now, running internally and customers on demo mode (using 3rd party cloud). Kevin Lollock has been setting up the demos.
      • SEs on MFG now have demos
      • Need 2 demo licenses (demo device, personal device)
  • Paul Pandelidis – presented to channel SE community in NA-  setting up a PBX
  • Suggestions for SEs to learn about deployments and report at SEVT calls:
    1. Each active Voice project should include at least one SEVT member who is assigned to attend all the calls and read all the correspondence, contributing where possible but primarily tasked with "shadowing" the implementers, understanding the issues and reporting back to the SEVT.
    2. Lessons Learned webinars should be prepared on each Voice project as soon as it is ended. We can start with recently-completed Voice projects and not wait for new completions.  These presentations should be aimed at the SEVT, but may also be used for the general SE population.

Action: Larry D. and team will elaborate more on the ideas.

  • Is there a next-gen device specific for voice? There have been some proposals but no approvals.
  • In new channel program, there is a sub-category for compensating on projects with new products or where extra effort is required to learn/deploy.  Voice is not on this category. Is Zebra serious about voice?
  • Are we recruiting new partners? Did we open the gates?  PTT pro is opening as class 5.
  • Next Gen Badge (EWB100):
    • Having issues with a customer, are we working on the next gen?
    • What is the next step for the customers?
    • Issues with current device are known. Some are: O.S. not standard, hard to add MDM, hard to diagnose, no control over WLAN, battery issues (batteries end up using all the cycles charge/discharge when placed at the charger and try to connect to WiFi).
