BrowserPrint server

We are developing an browser based ELN with support for Zebra printers. We were wondering if we can get around each of our users having to install BrowserPrint? We were thinking to install BrowserPrint on a "server"/laptop and then use the URL/IP of this "server"/laptop to connect to. But if we do that, we receive CORS issues, that only 127.0.0.1 is allowed - so almost there :-)

Can you help us with a multi-user environment where we do not want each user to install BrowserPrint?

Try to install the Browser Print with an administrative account on the PC. Then all other users on this PC should automatically have the access to the Browser Print installed by the administrator.

Hi Steven,

Thanks. Our users have their own computers, they do not share computers.

What we were looking for was this setup:

Printer IP: 1.2.3.4

Server IP: 5.6.7.8 (server has installed BrowserPrint and added printer 1.2.3.4)

Client 1: opens our ELN in their browser, this ELN know that server 5.6.7.8 has BrowserPrint installed and connects to this. (This is where the CORS error appears: only localhost/127.0.0.1 can connect, and obviously the client does not have this IP as it is a different IP than the Server IP.

In this case, you simply use the ELN as a communication tool for your client to pass back the data they want to be on the label to the server. Then let the server to call the Browser Print API to print the label.
