Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but couldn't find a better place.
Is a Zebra printer (i.e. ZD420) capable of charging an Android device (phone or tablet) connected over USB? The manual says the USB ports are low power but it's not obvious if charging would be possible.
It's important that we find this out before starting USB development for our Android app. The app runs a service that needs 100% up time, hence connecting to the printer over USB would not be an option if it can't be charged over USB. The battery would eventually go flat.
Thanks

In general, the USB port on the printer is not designed as a charging port at this moment, as the port is not intended for charging devices. Please do not rely on the USB port (neither the regular USB port nor the Host USB port) on the printer for charing purpose. It will not meet the expectation of charging, as it either does not charge the device at all, or provides a very low charging current depending on the device's charging requirement.
Thank you for confirming SSi1.
