Customer is complaining that when he copies 20MB file onto MC3090 CE5 he sees in the System Properties > Memory tab only 5 MB occupied. The same file copied onto MC3190 CE6 causes on the same window 100MB occupied.  CE5  AND  CE6 - file compression is a "SELECTABLE COLLECTION ITEM" in the platform builder   http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/ee490559(v=winembedded.60).aspx Customer is assuming that on the CE5 device there is file compression enabled, while in the CE6 it is not. Is this the case? Is this case for SPR? Many thanks Michal

Michal,

Did you actually saw this issue?

The OSs size are differant in MC3190 and MC3090. Also, you can re-allocate in -  System Properties > Memory tab, the memory size, and increase the storage memory.

I didn't saw the issue you describing, I also checked the config.bib of MC3190, and it looks OK, So I need you to find out how exactly is it happened in the customer site, before we will open SPR and/or bug case for Microsoft.

Yosi, sorry, no, 22MB should occupy 22MBs on the MC3190 not 100 as I wrote. This was a mistake, they tested with 100mb file and I have mixed it. 22MB file should use less than 5MB on MC3090, CE5 the same 22MB file should occupy 22MB on MC3190, CE6 sorry again.

Hi Yosi Additional information: customer Migros with 1000+ devices and with the growing number of articles is not happy with the replacement of old 3090’s where on 128MB they were able to store more articles than on new MC3190 256MB  just because data compressing is not activated (it is Microsoft option).

Michal, I will look into it and update you here if its an SPR or not.

Michal, I don't have MC3000 CE5 device, but I tried to reproduce the issue on MC3100 CE6, with no success,  I copied 22 MB files, and it didn't occupied 100 MB like you said, but less then 5 MB. Did you see this issue? Can you attached screen shots of it? - (Both devices, before and after coping). Thanks.
