New in LifeGuard OTA 3.3 APIs

  • Support for Pause and Resume on AB Streaming
    • The LGE (FOTA) solution is now able to pause AB Streaming of an OS update if a device switches to a network type that is not preferred by the administrator (i.e. cellular or other metered network), and resume when the device returns to the preferred network type (i.e. Wi-Fi).

IMPORTANT: The AB Streaming Pause/Resume feature is supported only on WAN-enabled devices running Android 11 or later with LifeGuard Update 11-16-05.00-RG-U27

For more information, see LifeGuard documentation

  • Local Media Server (LMS) support of AB Streaming and True Delta packages

    • Improvements in the FOTA notification API to support build and notify with download URL (Full OTA or Delta package) whenever a new BSP is released. This allows administrators to create deployments to download OTA packages from a Local Media Server (LMS). Refer to Developer Guide (pdf) for details.
  • Zebra Auto Update – options to Allow Cellular network
    • Device user is now able to select whether to use a metered/cellular network for Zebra Auto Updates via device UI available in FOTA Settings.
