Hi Sasha,
You will need to enrol your printer to Data Services (instructions here: https://developer.zebra.com/printer-setup) after which you'll be able to use the SN of that printer to test the API.

Without a printer I will not be able to make test requests?

Technically you could still make requests, but I believe the printer doesn't confirm a response to the API, so without having a printer you wouldn't know if your request had actually succeeded and resulted in a print.
If you don't have a printer registered to the Zebra cloud, for example, you could use a random string in place of the SN. Then you will receive an error response saying that the "specified asset is not registered ....". That's the farthest you can go without a printer.
