Jon: I have extensive experience using SmartCard readers here in the US with the Dept. of Defense (DoD.) The DoD refers to these as CAC (Common Access Card) readers but the are essentially the same as SmartCard technology. Because of FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) requirements we had to go third-party for the security supplicant but this could be done with standard WM5 EAP-TLS if your requiremnt is not as stringent.
