David Meyer was kind enough to provide the attached reg key which keeps SD Card mounted on Suspend/Resume.  This will in most cases address the issue. There is a known issue with this that it will increase power use by increasing current by 1 mA while suspended, decreasing battery life.

FYI this regkey to not unmount SD card is also resolving following:

1)     If you just launch  Windows Media Player  and then suspend unit and resume there is window from Mediaplayer.

A storage card was inserted, Do you want to search it for audio and video files ? ( Yes/No )

2)     If a application is running which relies on SD card, like Sygic  navigation software.

If this is running and you manually suspend unit with power button and  wake it up again the application is frozen or crashing.

3)     If you open up FileExplorer and leave it showing  SDcard then suspend and resume the focus is lost from SD card.
