At this time the ES400/MC65 Qualcomm architecture does not support the ability to specify a specific WINS server for WAN data connection (SPR20134). A similar issue SPR19641, was related to specifying a specific DNS server for WAN data connection.  We have a resolution to the DNS issue and that will be included in the next major OS release due out at the end of June timeframe. We need to build a business case to support the development effort required to make a specific WINS server work over WAN data connection. Please reply with any "real" opportunities that would be blocked for ES400/MC65 if it can not support specifying a WINS server for a WAN data connection. This will also be posted on the ES400 forum.
