Disable audio feedback when scanning a barcode (MC18)

I'm trying to find information about how to completely disable the audio feedback when scanning a barcode. I made changes in the profile Manager for Data Capture -> Data Input -> Barcode -> Scan Parameters -> Audio FeedBack Mode and set it to "Disable", but it doesn't make any difference.

The audio is _very_ loud and we _really_ want to completely disable it. I've looked through the API documentation without finding anything.

I'm pretty sure that Audio FeedBack Mode only applies to external Bluetooth scanners like the RS6000 since it is grouped between the BT scanner properties however it does not appear in the documentation.   are we missing the documentation for this?  Also for most of the other Scan parameters?

I believe the appropriate parameter would either be the Beep Volume channel, then adjust the volume of the selected channel (ringer, alarms etc) using the Android AudioManager - AudioManager | Android Developers .  Alternatively specifying a silent ogg file as your Decode Audio Feedback parameter should also work in this case.
